There is a lone whinney that brakes across the empty sky like a dagger cutting through silk. The crow calls and greets the gray morning. The whinney was from the lambrums of a lone equine-creature. Its smooth charcoal tinted wrapping glinted against the slight sunlight that managed to shine through the clouds that hung like banners in the sky. The animals turned its mighty visage to the sky, the atmosphere was humid, smelled of rain. Yes, rain was on its way. It whipped his black-hued flyer and scuffed at the grass with a flint. The powerful being rose onto its hind shanks and let out a call, a call to all those who thought it challenging, who thought it an intruder, who thought it menacing. A smirk played against its velvet kissers, for maybe it was all of these terrible adjectives strung together. But, of course, you had to be to survive in a place such as this. But, don'tunder estimate the warmness any creature can hold within its soul. It sounded another call, a softer call, at the touched its front pillars back to the geography. This time, it called to one who thought it good,. thought it beautiful, thought it worthy enough to be in their company. Yes, yes it had been alone for so long there had to be someone, anyone out there who could show it the meaning of a herd, a family, the meaning of... Love? Oh, that silly little words. It was such a little word for such a big emotion. It seemed to not do it justice. No, no not all. Suddenly, with an erratic burst of speed, the animal sped off into the morning mist, its well-oiled muscling rippling like little waves under its pelt, it slid to a sudden halt as the promised rain began to fall, spattering its coat with darker flecks. It shook its dial, dreds flying wildly, mingling with the falling rain. Is this what it was meant when that word "wild" was uttered from others' lips?

So How's The Weather?
Currently: Winter
We are in the height of winter. The winds are biting cold and there is a constant cover of snow in the woods and valleys, and espcially the mountains. All of the lakes and ponds are frozen, making the horses have to eat snow or lick the ice to get water. There is no birdsong, being they flew south. Foals who are experiencing their first winter are finding it harder and harder than they ever thought it would be. Will this winter ever end, we beg for spring.

A beautiful, shining, sparkling lake. It is very vast, and when horses come here they don't normally meet up with each other. Its a great place for a swim in the heat of summer. But in winter, it freezes over. But, don't walk on it. It doesn't freeze all the way through, and if you fall in, there is no hope of getting out. The large lake is surrounded by big weeping willow trees, making certain spots very secluded.
Fires are evil things. They destroy everything in their path. And here, in this once beautiful wood, the long-dead flames are still wreaking havoc. If you meet another here, you will forever hate them. They will be your enemy, and you cannot rid yourself of them until you are dead. The trees still stand, but are burned down and dead. There is no grass, just cold ash. Usually, fire brings new life, but here something is wrong.
Tulips. Ah, those beautiful flowers. And they smell so good, don't they? And, wow, the grass is so green here! Everyone looks so happy! Don't you want to be happy, as well? Come and join us here in Tulip Meadow.
This is such a sad place. With no trees or bushes to speak of, it is large and the land is flat and rather depressing. The clouds above create a contant cover from sun during the day, and stars during the night. You may come here to cry or grieve, but don't be surprised if you are seen. After all, there is no cover for you here.
Heaven on Earth is just an expression, right? Not here, in the land of the equines. This is a garden where the air is always warm and clouds never cover the beautiful blue sky. There are shady weeping willows and fragrant magnolia trees. There are rose bushes of every color. Horses don't live here, only one. A beautiful mare named _____________. She is the angel that heaven has sent to keep watch over Heaven's Garden. (Character Needed!)
With heaven, there is a hell. With Heaven's Garden there is a Hell's Caves. They are many caves carved into the side of an old, currently inactive volcano. They are dark, damp, and burning hot. There are only two horses that can withstand Hell on Earth: ____________ and his mate _____________. They are the two darkest horses on earth, do not cross their paths. (Tryout's Coming Soon!)
The wild equines of this land know nothing of the fences and walls of the captive place (its proper name is Fox Ridge Stables). Unless, of course, they have come from here. Some horses love their protected, sheltered life here. Some dispise it and wish to be spirited away into the forests beyond the fence.
Everyone needs a little lovin'. Why not find it by the sea? While the sea rages below you, your heart rages inside your chest as you meet your true love. But, as you fall in love, be careful not to fall over the edge. There wouldn't be time to save you, and the love that you found will eventually find another. You don't want that, do you?
A stallion can not expect or a mare to just waltz on in to his territory, bow and kiss his hooves, and make her way into his herd. A stallion must go searching. And here, where mares go when they realize how good a herd would be, sounds like the perfect place to begin the search that allows your herd to grow. It is a big forest with tall trees of all varaities. It is a nice place, a calm place.
Ugh, you too just aren't a good match. Her and your other mares do not get along very well, she doesn't produce the foals that you wanted, or she is just disobidient and rude. She is just not the mare for you. But, you don't want your herd to be short a mare, so you bring your mare here. You will find other stallion and you will make arrangments and trade mares. Barginning happens often, espcially if you want two mares, or if the other stallion's mare is especially beautiful. This is a pine forest on the edge of a mountain. This a place where most forcers go, but you will occasionally find regular herd stallions here.
Light stallions come to these pretty little lands to keep their mares. It is an open place, but with patches of trees that bear flowers and fruits during the warm months. Most horses here are kind and loving, if you need a place to stay this is probably the best place for you.
When sides are forms, there will always be those few who choose not to choose. If you are a neuteral stag, keep your herd here! It is a forest with small ponds and calm streams. There is a large canopy made from the trees that grow tall above the horses heads, making is a nice, quiet, shady place.
You think those stupid little rainbow chasing lights and wishy-washy neuterals should just make up their minds! You like the dark and decay and death of the night. And this land is exactly that. It is rather swampy and boggy and not much sunlight.
This is a dark, desolate valley. Usually, valleys are warm and sunny, green and bright. But not here, not in these dangerous lands. The grass is a dead, light brown color, and there are a few patches of scrawny trees. Most of this land is open, which favors the forcers. But now, mare, that you have entered here, everything is against you. Remember, you can and will be bred and claimed against your will here.
Forcer stallion, nothing is more secure than a territory on a steep mountain side. It is too dangerous to gallop down and movement is usually limited. It has plenty of caves for sleeping, but your territory will not be vast, you can only take up so much space on a mountain.
This is an almost pitch-black forest. It has long, low growing vines and dark tar pits that could suck a grown horse down in a few seconds. And even if you scream, no one will care. If you, forcer stallion, think this closed forest is a good place to keep your mares close to you, make your herd here.
The surface of this big, dark lake never moves and its depths are always icey cold. The legends say that monterous creatures live beneath the surface and most horses are too frightened to go near it. There are blackened globe willows surrounding the shores, forcers may find this place appealing because it is hard to penetrate the territories here.
It is surely a wonder of the wild. It is a tall, but thin falling water fall. It falls over a granite cliff. It is rather humid around there and mist hangs every where. The lake at the bottom is dark blue and the water churns almost violently from the water fall. Its loud and hard to hear. There is a cave behind the water fall, but you can only get there by going to the top of the cliff and walking down a thin rocky ledge that leads to the opening behind the water fall. Now, the reason that it is called Rainbow Waterfall is because in the right light, and at the right time of the day, you can see the rainbow stretch over the peak of the waterfall.
This is a thin, bridge that water hollowed out by an ancient river that used to flow through this area. It is extremely tiny, only one horse can fit across it. Be careful walking across you could fall to your death onto the hard, red-ish earth down below. There are little reptiles that crawl around the rocks to sun themselves in the warm weather.
This is a forest on the edge of the wild horses territory. The trees can reach up to 150 feet in the air and they are amazingly wide around. Some are hollow in the middle and are opened up so horses can walk and stand inside them. In the summer, humans come here with tents and sleep for the night. Horses should avoid those tents, humans only mean trouble.
This is a dense forest of thick, but short pine trees. They are packed in together and most horses must duck their heads just to walk through. Even in the day time it is dark and eeiry. This is where many bobcats stalk, be careful. At night, in the summer, fireflies come out in more than imense numbers and make a blinking light through out the trees.
This cavern is found nestles under a hill, the entrance is rather small but looks are decieving. The Cavern goes on for miles and miles under the ground. There are a few holes in the ground to let light through. There are hugh spikey stalagmites and stalagtites. When there is a full moon at night, the jewels in the rock shine with a one-of-a-kind sheen.
Strong Light stallions that wish to have their own personal territory, claim on of these. They are beautiful and have alot of open space along with plenty of shelter. (Check often for openings!)
Neuteral stallions will bring their herds to these, vast expanding territories. They are well covered and well protected, its hard to get through their borders. (Check often for openings!)
